Its’s cold, it’s dark most of the time the excuses are endless. However if you are signed up to something there is all the more reason to get out the door and do your training.
Mo Run
This 5k and 10k run taking place in the phoenix park is a great opportunity to raise awareness for men’s health and run for a good cause. The Mo Run is an international event and sports a funky medal. We love a bit of of bling.
Clontarf Half Marathon and 5 Mile

Running chick having completed the Half Marathon 2015
The Clontarf 5 mile and Half-Marathon both start and finish along the seafront in Clontarf. For the first year the 5 mile route is turning just before you reach the sand on Dollymount. The Half marathon follows the start of the 5 mile and continues along Dollymount strand (for the most part of this the sand is very compact and great for running on) and turning just before Sutton. Claiming to be Ireland’s Flattest Half Marathon and 5 Mile a great chance for a PB. The race is also sponsored by Erdinger so a nice Beer post run. (not to mention the doughnuts at the finish line.)
Marathon International du Beaujolais
The highlight of our running calendar is our annual trip to France for Marathon International du Beaujolais where running chicks take on the distance with wine for refreshments along the route. A great weekend in Villefranch sur Saone. This event is in celebration of the Beaujolais Nouveau where the local vineyards put on a great spread along the route. As a substitute to the normal water stations you would expect during a run instead you get much more. Water is accompanied by wine, cheese, cold meat’s and chocolate. Did we mention the wine?
As you cross the finish line you are also rewarded with a bottle of wine to take home but unless you have checked luggage you will have to drink it while there.
We also have lots of our own events this month : ForgetTheGym Events.
