No newsletter since August?

Ooooooppps, the autumn has passed and its 3 months since we sent a ‘monthly newsletter’. From weddings to workshops, pregnancy to planking, marathons to media , we have plenty of excuses. Take a look below at what has been keeping us all busy….

A Running Hen…

It all started early September when I got the shock of my life when a huge gang of running chicks turned up one sunday morning to have a running ‘Hen’ party for me. Plenty of surprises and treats. Thank you so much girls. Not only that, they put together the most wonderful photobook of all their running stories. Still can’t read it without getting emotional.

A Plank a Day…

In Sept we also kicked off our ‘Plank a Day‘ Challenge, with over 300 people taking part. We were thrilled with the uptake, and couldnt believe so many of you kept it going all month..

Seminars and Workshops…

September was a busy month delivering seminars and workshops – from Temple Street Hospital to Healthy Towns Initiative in Portlaoise, The Merrion Fertility Clinic and most fun of all, the marathon coaching workshops with both Sloggers to Joggers in Swords and our own Dublin Marathon Training Group in Dublin city.

Dublin Half Marathon…

Outside the classroom, those training for longer distances saw all the hard work pay off at the Dublin Half Marathon in September.

Ultra Running ….

Coach Anne ran her second ultra marathon of the summer  in Belfast and was right  back into teaching classes keeping all the gang on their toes.

A Day Out ….

We had a day out of the tracksuits in early October. Thank you sincerely to everyone for all the good wishes. Can you recognise us all ?

Parkrun Virgins….

Glorious weather all month with weekends full of new parkruns, beginners reaching their first 30 minute run and running with ease and a smile their first 5k events and races.

A New Baby…

Coach Aoife has been updating you all summer on her running and pregancy blog, and we were delighted to welcome our cutest and youngest running chick Eleanor who arrived after 42 weeks. Many congratulations Aoife and John.

The Planks go Global …

The Plank challenge couldnt stop end of Sept, instead it grew legs in October as  we had planks being done everywhere from Disneyland, The Great Wall of China, Dubai, not to mention at the Taj Mahal and Base Camp Everest.

In the papers….

In the buildup to Dubin Marathon, I had a regular series of articles in The Irish Times for marathon virgins. I was also asked to write on running psychology for the marathoners in Irish Runner Magazine. Read all our autumn articles in the press.

Winter Classes Kick off …

We started a brand new term of classes which will bring us up to our Xmas Lights Runs and returned to Naas after a long break over the summer.

Marathon Fever…

What a day for the runners and cheerleaders on Monday 27th. The streets of Dublin came alive as those who had trained all summer got to experience the marathon buzz. We are sooooo proud of all our marathon students.

Irish Times Running Coach…

My third new 8 Week Get Running Programme was launched for runners looking to improve their 5k. Throughout the autumn runners followed my videos and online coaching and each week could ask questions online via the Irish Times Website.

New York, New York

Coach Lorraine and a few more of the gang saw their hard work pay off at the New York Marathon and after cheering on the Dublin Marathon, they were on the other side of the fence the following week in NYC.
