Where did the summer go? It has flown by, but thankfully we have so many lovely memories of morning runs, brunches, races, holidays, classes and fun times with the ForgetTheGym gang. Here are some of the highlights…
At the Races
In July we had a great bunch of our running chicks take on their first 5 mile and 10k distance at the Dublin Marathon Race Series events and parkruns. Plenty smiles at the finish line as always.
We took a gang to the Great Pink Run for a saturday morning of pink running in the park.
We still love parkrun though and had some wonderful parkruns and picnics.
Dublin Marathon Training
Our marathon training group kicked off their 16 week training programme on workshops, group runs and miles and miles.
Run+Cook Sunday Brunch
We enjoyed a Sunday brunch with a difference at our Run+Cook events with Deelitefull. We even had an alternative hen party join in.
Loving the Summer
We were blessed with great weather and plenty rainbows and sunshine in classes and only a few days of rain. Our beginners graduated and celebrated at parkruns all around the city.
100km Success Story
We travelled to West Cork to cheer on our wonderful running coach Anne as she competed a 100k run. Not only that she made it look easy and was first lady to cross the finish line.
We raised another €1000 for Irish Hospice Foundation from sale of our Running Chick Tshirts.
We had plenty laughs
Running is meant to be fun, so along the way sometimes you have to stop to chat to the sailors, have a cuppa or just catch up with running buddies..
We went corporate
We had a wonderful charity weekend of classes raising over €600 for The Irish Hospice Foundation. See all the photos.
We kept on writing
We finally got a bit more organised on our ForgetTheGym blog and added some regular entries. Mary featured in The Irish Times each month writing on motivation, running and lots more. Read all articles in the press.
ForgetTheGym went international and coached many runners via Skype from all over the world and took a little day trip to meet one of our Skype runners in Brussels.
365 days of success
Our Plank a day challenge marked its 1st Anniversary and 5 of our students celebrated planking all 365 days. We are so impressed with them. Read their success stories.
Dublin Half Marathon
We finished the Dublin Marathon Race Series with our biggest gang ever at the Half Marathon. We are so proud of the dedication and effort that went into training for this all summer by everyone. See all half marathon photos
So what happens now?
Autumn continues and we have lots of plans for workshops, classes and holidays over the next few months. We have a few surprises up our sleeves and are looking forward now to the next 3 months of the year..
