We know virtual coaching might sound a little strange but we are delighted to say after 2020 we are thrilled with the feedback on our virtual programmes. It looks like virtual coaching is here to stay.

Forget the gym embraces you as part of their team where everyone is like family. I signed up to winter program and it has facilitated my journey in exercise n fitness through support, encouragement and comradeship. The coaches and people in the programme have been the motivating factor that have kept me running through lockdown this year . Aoife’s live strength classes are great for accountability as you tune into familiar faces. Mary’s weekly plan and live video chats, Linda’s yoga for relaxing and Dee’s food videos are there to dip in and out of as and when suits you. Then when you’re missing company on solo runs and lockdown lifts, Mary provides a very safe outdoor environment with limited numbers in the form of a pop up run -all great value for money too! Virtual coaching with Forget the Gym has been a revelation! I have been struggling to be consistent with my running over the last couple of years. I had great intentions at the start of every week but somehow it just didn’t translate into the running I wanted. With the virtual coaching I look forward to each Sunday email with the weekly plan. In this mad crazy year keeping sane meant “controlling the controllables” . ForgetTheGym’s virtual coaching made this possible & helped me to commit during months where it would have been too easy to let fitness disappear as a priority. The weekly plan gave focus and Aoife’s online beachfit class ( which I was never able to do in Sandymount) was just brilliant to do any time during the week . Virtual coaching with Forget the Gym has been so much fun this year – great hints and tips, ongoing encouragement and the camaraderie of a group of fellow runners many of whom I have never met have made this my best running year in a long time. I can highly recommend virtual coaching with Mary and the team. Not only are you getting all the running coaching, the workouts, nutrition and yoga, you gets so much more. It is so much fun, there is no competitiveness among the members just an amazing interactive online community that all support each other weather your trying to do your first 5k or run a marathon. I also love the fact that I can pick which class I am interested in and do it either live or at a time that suits me. This was the first time I ever tried a virtual running coaching course and I have to say I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The training plans, weekly emails, classes and chats were brilliant. The challenges are all fun and it gives you a new insight to running whether you are starting a couch to 5k or going for a marathon. All the coaches involved always kept us focused encouraged and all the girls encouraged and cheered each other on with their posts and photos. Fiona
